"Reindeer Game," Merkel and the Merkelettes (self-issued)

The Philadelphia comedy troupe normally drops an album just ahead of Christmas every year; last year it was more of an EP and for 2024 it's just a single, which is underlined by the cover art at right. But it's a good one; "Reindeer Game" is a solid holiday takeoff on Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game," and the flip side, "Last Christmas (I Told You I Loved You)," appears to be an original with no relationship to Wham; it's a semi-grungy sounding indie-rocker that folks with that particular taste might enjoy.
